Searching for a Place to Rest My Head at Night... I'll Meet You There

In these small acrylic gouache works on handmade paper, I work quickly, responding to changing light, memory, and immediate observation. The paint builds in transparent and opaque layers, and I embrace the unpredictability of how it interacts with the handmade paper. I can guide the process, but I cannot completely control it. That balance between intention and chance reflects my experience of moving through unfamiliar places, remaining open to what each environment reveals. The smaller scale creates an intimacy that allows each painting to be a concentrated record of attention.
